Use SSI (Server Side Includes), PHP, ASP, JavaScript, or other technology to include portions of HTML on many pages of a Web site.
Once you've surfed the Web for more than a day, you'll notice that most Web sites have a theme for their site design that is repeated across every page on the site. On the Web Design site, there are several elements that are repeated in this way, including the header portion of the page and the left navigation.
But, when I put up a new article every week, I don't have to write the HTML to add those standard elements. All I write is the article. The rest of the template is built by a content management tool on About. But even if you don't have access to a content management system, there are many ways you can manage your site without having to edit every page by hand.
