Cannot start Apache - Port 80 issues

You cannot start Apache and you get the following error message.

Port 80 in use by "Unable to open process"

or

Apache cannot Start

This is usually caused by another application that is already running, in windows this is usually either Skype or World Wide Web Publishing Service (iis).

By default the Apache installation of XAMPP operates on port 80. Now Skype is also working on the same port leading to a conflict and I have to shut down Skype before Apcahe starts working. How can I change the port of Apache ?
