Run Control Panel as administrator

If like me you are running windows as a standard user and need to then run control panel as an adminstrator you will find it is not that straight forward. You would need this elevation in privileges when a 3rd party app can not request them properly.

If the machine is running Windows XP you may want to install a program for someone without having to log them off. A simple way is to use the “runas” command line utility to invoke the Control Panel applet Add Remove Programs.
