RetroVectors are produced from a number of sources and references. Original materials that have fallen out of copyright have been scanned at the highest resolution possible and extensively cleaned of the noise that comes from early printing methods and paper that’s well over a hundred years old. The Victorian stock comes from newspapers from the day, shop catalogues, print catalogues, calling cards, posters…all manner of printed ephemera. It’s facinating material and it’s great to be able to provide artwork and craftmanship from artisans long dead so new life can be breathed into it. I can’t imagine that any of these artists would have thought that their work would still be in use a hundred and forty odd years later!

Retrovectors is a site for creatives. A source of graphic elements for projects. Not finished designs but items that can be incorporated into design and layouts. Quality vector stock that is free to use for personal or commercial work. There is an emphasis on quality. All the material available is commercial grade stock, produced by a designer for designers. A little ‘help you up’ when time is short and budget is tighter than an otter’s pocket…a situation every designer knows all too well.

The downloadable vector stock resources on RetroVectors are free for personal and commercial design work. The purpose of this site is to provide files that are free and easy to use, aswell as a learning environment. There are some usual exceptions to the license.
