This site has an excellent texture generator if you have time to play, you can generate a limited range of 'icon and text', also text logos amongst other stuff.

This site is confusing as to what is free and what isn't. From my reading the paid service allows you to save your creations, the free one just allows you to play with them. However if you read the 'Terms of Use', everything is freeware and can be used personally and commercially. no where does it say that you cant use them how you want or stipulated you need to purchase a subscription, which lead me to my next point. Install the 'web developer toolbar' for firefox and in the 'NET' console the url of the generated texture will appear by passing the javascript code displaying the texture but not allowing you to donwload it. This at worst is a bending of the rules.

There is a decent sound library you can buy if you want snippets of lots of different sounds

The sound effects are free for personal use. For commercial use, purchase of a commercial license is required.
